On June 12, Rifugio Digitale welcomed the children of the Happy Kids nursery school in Florence for a special visit through the gallery’s digital archive. A gentle journey through images and poetry, tailored for curious eyes and growing minds.
Through a visual and sensory narrative, the young visitors were guided among the vibrant colors of Piero Percoco’s photographs in the exhibition Canicola, which celebrates the sweetness of slow living in his sun-drenched Bari. They then encountered the wild horses roaming free on the Japanese island of Yonaguni, featured in AO (Blue) by Dutch artist Charlotte Dumas. Finally, they immersed themselves in the suspended and symbolic atmosphere of Mythologies by Australian artist Petrina Hicks, where mythology merges with nature and mystery.
The encounter concluded with workshops designed especially for young children, built around attentive observation, listening, and dialogue. An experience that encouraged open exchange, collective discovery, and imagination, making art an accessible language from the very earliest years of life.
