Voluntary donations made in the spirit of generosity are eligible for tax benefits provided to Third Sector Entities under Article 83 of Legislative Decree 117/2017 (Third Sector Code).For individuals, donations are deductible from personal income tax (IRPEF) at 30% of the donated amount, up to a maximum of €30,000 per tax year. With the creation of Rifugio Digitale in Florence, a once-forgotten space has been returned to the city’s residents and tourists–freely accessible to all–transformed into an exhibition environment where the fusion of art and technology creates an engaging, surprising, and interactive experience.The 165-square-meter space is versatile and dedicated not only to hosting exhibitions but also to debates and talks, welcoming a diverse audience eager to discover a new hub for cultural exchange and learning in the heart of Florence.
In its first year of activity, Rifugio Digitale hosted internationally renowned artists, including Fabrizio Plessi, Roberto Di Caro, Luca Locatelli, Charlotte Dumas, Franco Ionda, Matthieu Gafsou, and Piero Percoco. The artworks–ranging from dynamic to static, physical to digital–each established a unique dialogue with the tunnel, guiding visitors through an immersive journey.The singularity of each piece was woven into a cohesive narrative thanks to the sequence of screens, creating a powerful immersive experience. This unique spatial rhythm inspired several artists to create site-specific works, such as Oro by Fabrizio Plessi and Tormento e Luce by Franco Ionda.
Rifugio Digitale is also committed to children and young people, particularly through collaborations with schools, where it plays a key role in promoting historical, artistic, and cultural knowledge.Given that the legal and operational headquarters are located in a former WWII air-raid shelter–later restored–the space also offers guided tours focused on both the historical significance of the architecture and the current exhibitions.

Please note that donations made by bank transfer, credit card, or bank check are tax-deductible from your income tax return.
